• This detailed and well-organized unit is intended for 7th grade students and provides 3 – 4 weeks of curriculum. Students will investigate the dependence of organisms on one another and their environments and how living and nonliving factors affect both. Each of the five lessons includes standards, essential questions, a materials list, and a plan in which students Engage, Explore, Explain, Evaluate and Extend. Extensive support (vocabulary lists, supplemental resources, etc.) are included. The lessons include a nice variety of activities from discussion to hands-on and experiential learning, and provide some rubrics and student handouts. It would be nice to see, as the Curriki community explores this unit, examples of student work.
