First lesson in a series on Jazz Studies. This one begins with modern hip-hop and ties it back to the earliest roots in Africa and slavery. Students read a selection, complete a graphic organizer, listen to some songs, and analyze hip-hop lyrics. This was taught at KIPP Saturday School.
